4 Different Types of College Essays
UC Essays:
Pick 4 or 8 Essays (250-350 Words). Tip: Students below 3.5 GPA should do the optional 5th essay
Common Application Essays:
Pick 1 of 6 Essays (350 - 650 Words)
Supplemental Essays:
SOME Common App Schools want additional writing (usually 250-500 Words).
Sometimes, you’ll have to answer short answers.
“Regular” Essays:
SOME Non-Common Application schools want 1-2 Essays of varying length
(Examples: BIOLA University, Georgetown University, Brown University, others)
Note:
These are not personal statements, these essays are specific questions that need to be answered by the student.
The more schools you add to your list, the more essays you’ll have to write.
