Special SDSU Information Session

Stop writing off CSU schools based on outdated info or empty campus visits.

San Diego State is one of the top CSU campuses in the nation in multiple fields, yet students dismiss it without understanding what they're turning down. This year, with Parent PLUS loans capped at $20,000 annually, choosing high return-on-investment schools isn't optional—it's essential.

Why This Matters Now

The new loan reality: If you pick a school requiring $45,000 after financial aid, students must take out private loans (with parents as co-signers) at higher interest rates than PLUS loans. At CSU schools like San Diego State, you can graduate with just the federal student direct loan and possibly your parents' $20,000—no additional private debt needed.

Don't turn it down without knowing what it is. Too many students say "I don't want to stay in California" or "I visited and no one was there" without fairly evaluating what CSUs offer.

Join Our SDSU Alumni & Student Info Session

Thursday, January 29th | 7:15 PM | Zoom

Hear directly from San Diego State alumni and knowledgeable students about:

  • Campus life and student experience

  • Academic programs and career outcomes

  • What makes SDSU a top-tier CSU

  • Questions answered by those who actually attend

Who should attend:

  • Seniors who've applied to SDSU (learn about the school while you wait for decisions)

  • 11th graders exploring college options (include 4 strong CSUs on your list!)

  • Parents wanting affordable, high-ROI schools for their students

We'll start with a 10-minute keynote on CSUs, then turn it over to current students and alumni for an organic Q&A. Come with your questions—this is your chance to hear the truth from people who live it daily.

Why Consider CSUs?

  • No teacher recommendations required

  • No essays needed

  • Self-reported grades for application

  • Easy to apply (we can help + possibly get fee waivers)

  • Affordable tuition = high return on investment

  • Strong career outcomes

An on-campus follow-up event for minority students will be announced after this session—attend the Zoom meeting first to learn about it.

Know what you're turning down before you turn it down. San Diego State and other CSUs deserve fair consideration in this new financial aid landscape. Join us January 29th to learn why.
