What's the Mission? The REC Aerial Drone Competition!
Our ultimate goal is to compete in the prestigious REC Aerial Drone Competition in March 2026!
The competition is a thrilling, student-centered sporting event supported by the REC Foundation. Teams compete in local and national events, testing their skills in four core focuses:
Piloting Teamwork: Two students fly the drone together to maximize their score.
Autonomous Flight: Program the drone to operate entirely on its own, scoring as many points as possible in a 1-minute match.
Piloting Skills Challenge: A student flies the drone through an obstacle course.
Competition Logbooks: Teams document their process and program decisions.

Quick Program Facts
WHO: Students Age 12-17 6
WHEN: Weekly classes starting November 15th – March 2026
SCHEDULE: Mondays 4pm-6pm AND Saturdays 10am-12pm
COMMITMENT: A typical team practices 2 - 4 hours per week
WHERE: EF STEM GYM, 3555 S. Western Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90018
COST: Families pay only a $25 per student registration fee (Scholarships are available!)
TEAM SIZE: 3-5 students per team
